Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ratlam established in 1984 , is situated on sagod road about 7 km. from Ratlam Railway station and 6 km. From the Bus station. This Vidyalaya is in the Civil sector and the collector of Ratlam District is the Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee. This is a three section school from class I to IX, two section from class X and Single section for classes XI and XII with an enrolment of 1201 students. Science subjects and Informatics Practices are offered at the +2 stage. Computer education is provided to all students from class III to XII. Apart from the academics ventures a variety of co-curricular activities are also conducted. The Vidyalaya aims at comprehensive development of the child with accent on mental, moral and physical well being. The Vidyalaya is being developed as a quality Vidyalaya with some of the useful features of popular schools, without making the schooling very expensive.

Kendriya Vidyalayas are run by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body formed by the Ministry of Education,(HRD) Govt. of India, New Delhi as a result of the recommendation of the second pay commission. They primarily cater for the educational needs of the children of Central Govt. Employees including Defence personnel liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. Needless to say, therefore, they have a common syllabus and are affiliated to the Central Board of secondary Education, New Delhi. Every School, hence is a ‘Miniature India’ in itself and tries to inculcate in its students feelings of patriotism, brotherhood and national integration . Admission is open to all categories of applicants including non central government employees.
